Macedon Football Netball Club continued its perfect start to the season with a gruelling 39-point win over Wallan at Tony Clarke Reserve.
Key forward Matt Knox made the most of a much needed week off to fully recover from recent injuries. He kicked five goals in an impressive performance.
Wallan went into the contest filled with confidence on the back of a recent run of good form.
Cool and wet conditions should have made for a more level playing field but Macedon did not see it that way.
Missing captain James Wright due to work commitments, Macedon found more run through young gun Toby Sims and 100 gamer Al Collins in his absence.
Jack Kernan found himself on the receiving end of a good chain of passes from half-back to kick the opening goal of the game just three minutes into the contest for Macedon.
Wallan worked hard to penetrate Macedon's defense but their confidence going forward lack precision in their passing. They were going head-to-head for Macedon in the inside 50s for a small stretch but couldn't hit the scoreboard.
Cat Matt Knox found himself on the receiving end of a handy scenario. After kicking a point, the tall forward pressed into Wallan's huddle on the 50 metre arc, marked the kick-in and kicked a goal. He repeated this from a similar scenario just minutes later, finishing the opening term with three goals.
