The Melton Toyota Riddell District Football & Netball League, in conjunction with award sponsor Dome Security, are pleased to announce that the Round 4 nomination for the Steve Turner Medal - RDFNL Dome Rising Gun Award for the 2013 RDFNL season is David Quillerat from the Romsey FNC.
Steve Turner is a name synonymous with junior football in the north/western metropolitan areas. Steve is a Life Member of the Riddell District FNL who has held many roles within the league, including a stint as Football Operations Manager and on the RDFNL Board. In 2013, Steve has returned to the RDFNL Board as well as taking up a team manager's role with the Western Jets in the TAC Cup.
Quillerat, who played the 2012 season for Romsey in their Under 18.5 side, has played the first three games in Romsey's senior side in 2013, and has been outstanding for the Redbacks in their recent wins over Macedon and Melton Centrals playing through the midfield.
To be eligible for the Steve Turner Medal, players must be under 23 years of age, and have played less that 15 senior games prior to the start of the 2013 season. Players must have played junior or Under 18.5 football in the RDFNL, and have made themselves available for selection in RDFNL Interleague Programs. The 2012 Steve Turner Medal - RDFNL Dome Rising Gun Award was won by Kayne Murphy from the Sunbury Kangaroos.
