Broadford Football Netball Club is in a crisis and is in desperate need of coaches and players across football and netball.
The club is desperately short on volunteers for the day-to-day running of the club.
The club is actively seeking players for its Senior, Reserves and Under 18.5s football team. It is still seeking a Reservers and Under 18.5s coach.
Broadford also needs players who would be interested in playing in its A Grade netball team, plus additional players across its B, C and Under 19 teams.
"If we cannot provide sufficient numbers by the end of March, we cannot meet our RDFNL league affiliation obligations, and therefore will not be able to compete in 2017," Broadford FNC president Greg Holcombe says.
The club is looking for volunteer roles to help out on the gate, canteen, BBQ, raffles, function staff to ground managers, team managers, prospective coaches, assistants and bar work. The club will assist anyone who doesn't have a Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA) with full training.
The more volunteers that the club has, the less work that needs to be done by those assisting.
"Now is the time to get on board we need you," Greg says.
Harley Hammond Reserve has recently been resurfaced and is in perfect condition to play on.
The club is currently training at Broadford Secondary College on Tuesday/Thursday nights from 6pm while the ground's resurfacing finishes.
It is all not doom and gloom. Lee Maddinson joined the club over the weekend as netball coordinator and netball coordinator coach.
Maddinson has experience with coaching in NSW at Rockdale and Parramatta Auburn. She has tasted premiership success and is driven to enhance the natural talent of her players.
"I see great talent and potential in each player and is excited to see individuals and the teams and club develop throughout the year," Maddinson says.
Broadford is holding a registeration and membership night at the Broadford Hotel (bottom pub) on Friday, March 24 from 6pm.
