Netball
Centrals will again be a force in the RDFNL netball A Grade competition this year.
The squad will again be led by Randy Pereira who has coached nine years at the top level for the club. He has a combined 14 years of football and netball coaching experience that make him one of the most respected figures in the RDFNL.
The club welcomes Rachael Dovaston, Sally Portbury,Rita White-Kay, Jade Fisher and Caitlin Duncan into the line-up.
Danica Emery, Natash Maea, Jess Watton, Mel Laird and Tran Truong depart the team.
The squad will be well balanced and competitive to give another crack at the RDFNL A Grade premiership title.
Its aim is to finish in the top three, but time will tell.
The young star to watch in the team is Em D'antonio.
"Em has filled in at A grade over the last years and has acquitted herself well, the speed of A grade has not affected her in anyway, the only standing in Em's way is Em herself, she is a strong defender who can play goals as well, this makes a very valuable player for us," Randy says.
Rita White Kay is another star to watch.
"We are very lucky to have got her, a strong goaler, smart and moves like a small goaler very agile and combines well with our WA GA even though they have only played together twice," Randy says
There is many teams to look out for this season with the club believing Macedon, Romsey and Diggers Rest to lead the way as top contenders.
Football
Centrals will be led by new coach Matt Sproule who took over from Glenn Hopkins at the end of 2016. The club recorded an impressive win under new coach Sproule and captain James Aquilina last week against Rockbank. Club legend Kane Bullen is the biggest absentee from the team.
