DEVILS star Brett Geappen will miss Saturday's match against Springvale in Launceston after being suspended for one week by the VFL Tribunal last night.
Geappen and his brother, Tim, were both reported for charging during last week's away win over Frankston. Tim chose not to contest the charge and took an automatic two-week ban.The Devils decided to contest Brett's report and fronted the tribunal last night.
Meanwhile, Box Hill Hawks coach Andy Collins has accused the tribunal of giving AFL players preferential treatment.
The Hawks will lodge an official complaint with the VFL after Collingwood defender Jason Cloke was cleared of a striking charge on Tuesday night.
Cloke was reported for charging Box Hill youngster Ben McGlynn in an off-the-ball incident in Sunday's Box Hill-Williamstown clash. The clash left McGlynn with a broken jaw.
"We're not targeting Jason Cloke or Williamstown, but there seems to be a trend of late that all AFL players attending VFL Tribunals are getting off,'' Collins said.
"Guy Rigoni got suspended for two weeks and then got cleared on appeal; David Hille got suspended for two weeks and got cleared on appeal.''
