AFL Tasmania presented a number of high profile recognition Awards at ceremonies in Hobart, Launceston and Ulverstone today.
The AFL Tasmania Award ceremonies featured the presentation of the following awards:
AFL Merit Awards for more than 10 years service to football to Bill Sorell (Hobart) and Rex Frankcombe (Elliot).
MBF Development Volunteer Awards were presented to coach Don Cooper (Penguin), sports trainer Ron Hastie (Hobart) and administrator Joe Fletcher (Launceston).
NAB Volunteer Awards for assisting players who have been drafted were presented to Guy Grey (Burnie), Bill Lowe (Burnie) and Mark Ranger (Hobart).
Team of the Century and Hall of Fame members who were unable to attend the respective ceremonies in 2004 and 2005 were recognised including Wayne Fox, Brian Wilson, Charlie Dennis, Colin Robertson, Ray Stokes, Grenville Bellchambers, Ivan Hayes and Trevor Leo, George Viney, Trevor Ranson and Kevin McLean.
Hall of Fame Certificates were presented to North Hobart FC (at Hobart), Scottsdale's team of 1973 (at Launceston) and the Tasmania team of 1960 that defeated Victoria (at Ulverstone) to recognise their induction into the Hall of Fame.
AFL Auskick Volunteer Awards were presented to Mary Jolly (Westbury), Adrian Quaile (Ulverstone) and Adrian Mayne (South Arm).
