The Wrest Point Tasmanian Devils will be back doing it at night at Aurora Stadium on Saturday 22nd April from 6.30pm in the annual ANZAC commemoration game against the Frankston Dolphins.
This will be the first time that the Wrest Point Tasmanian Devils have played for the Alec Campbell Cup at Aurora Stadium. As well, the Frank McDonald Medals will be presented to the best players from each team on the night.
The Alec Campbell Cup and Frank McDonald Medals are named in honour of two of the best known World War One veterans who only passed away in recent times.
The game will feature the following ceremony to commemorate the ANZAC Day message of service and sacrifice: Performance of the national anthem and other service tunes by the RSL band; the ODE by RSL President Bob Fitz; and presentation of the Alec Campbell Cup and Frank McDonald medals by Felicity Tengai, the grand daughter of Alec Campbell.
In the coming week AFL Tasmania will provide media stories to support the Tasmanian medias editorial coverage of the first ANZAC commemoration game in Launceston.
