THE Devils final home-and-away game has been moved and will now be a
curtain-raiser to the Hawthorn-Kangaroos game at Aurora Stadium.
Originally rostered as a Friday night game against Box Hill in
Launceston, AFL Tasmania general manager Scott Wade confirmed the game has
been switched to the following day, Saturday, August 26.
``We think this is a trial and if it works OK there is the potential
to do this more often,'' Wade said yesterday.
``We would like to play more but it is all a revenue issue -- we
can't play there for nothing.
``We've been working with AFL Live for three or four months now to
come up with a suitable arrangement about this and that has happened. We are
happy and we think it will add value to the whole day.''
He said both AFL and VFL clubs were happy with the move as it
includes Hawthorn's aligned club Box Hill and the Kangaroos partially
aligned side the Devils plus the senior teams all in action on the one day.
