AFL Tasmania and Variety the Children's Charity announced today at Aurora Stadium that Australia's most recognisable female country singer Gina Jeffreys will be the special guest entertainer at the AFL Grand Final Ladies Dinner to be conducted at Country Club Tasmania on Thursday 27 September 2007.
The now annual Ladies Dinner is held to support Variety the Children's Charity and all funds raised will this year will support projects in and around the Launceston Region.
As well as the headline act Gina Jeffreys who is famous for her signature tune Girls Night Out, this year's Dinner will once again feature `The Panel' of ladies of sport and includes:
- Sallee Whitehead from the Workstar Launceston Tornadoes basketball team.
- Di Rawlings, the mother of AFL players Brady and Jade Rawlings.
- Melissa Carlton dual paralympian and Sydney 2000 gold medallist.
The Panel will be interviewed by 7LA personality Kerri Gay.
Well known Tasmania Business women Sue Rees, who is one of the Directors of Variety the Children's Charity, said:
This is an exciting venture that Variety is very happy to be part of. Variety and AFL Tasmania have been in partnership for several years and the Ladies Dinners both here and in Hobart have assisted fundraising efforts for the Charity.
