Saints goal kicking machine Matt Walsh reminded anybody who was concerned about his form that he has still got it on the weekend, kicking 10 of Saints' 16 goals as they pipped Port Douglas in Crocs territory.
Walsh had been relatively quiet this season, kicking five majors in the first three games.
But he grabbed seven last weekend in a come-from-behind win against the Lions and the veteran was at his clinical best again in Port on Saturday.
Saints' precision told in the 16.5 (101) to 13.11 (89) triumph, Walsh kicking just one behind to go with his 10 majors.
Seven of those came in the second half as Saints fought their way back against an intense and prepared Port.
"You always want to kick your goals against the good sides," Walsh said.
"I'm just happy to contribute to the team.
"But it was good to show rep selectors that I can still get a kick."
Walsh said a change in strategy helped them build a lead despite Port having the early running.
"Their midfield killed us and they won all the centre clearances and were putting a full press on us," Walsh said.
"But the boys won some more ball in the second and that's why I was able to kick those goals.'
The haul puts Walsh second on the golden boot tally.
He sits four behind Souths' Paul Smith.
Smith leads with 26 goals despite hitting the post five times in Cutters defeat of Manunda.
