Cazaly's gets ready to host the world's biggest touring extreme sports show in 2013.
The Far North will get to experience the thrills and spills of the world's biggest touring extreme sports show next year.
With 40 of the world's top extreme sports athletes across a variety of disciplines, including freestyle motocross, BMX, skateboarding and rollerblading, Travis Pastrana's Nitro Circus Live hits Cazalys for the first time, direct from a string of sell-out arena dates in Europe, the US and Australia.
Riders on the tour include freestyle motorcross legends Nate Adams, Cam Sinclair, Blake “Bilko” Williams and Josh Sheehan, alongside BMX kings Andy Buckworth and James Foster, No1 rollerblader Chris Haffey, freestyle scooter maestro Ryan Williams and the world's only extreme wheelchair athelte, Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham.
Bringing 10 trucks filled with ramps and set pieces including the Nitro Gigant-A-Ramp, Nitro Circus Live managing director Michael Porra said the show was unlike anything seen in the Far North before.
“It’s every bit as big as something like The Rolling Stones coming to town, in terms of the size of set,” Mr Porra said.
“I took a Crusty Demons tour up there a few years ago and that’s one of the reasons we decided to come back.
“The reactions of the people up there was great, we like crazy people basically and Cairns is full of them.”
Mr Porra said due to future booking commitments, this would be the only time Cairns would see Nitro Circus Live in the forseeable future.
“I think the most important message from us is that this will almost certainly never happen again,” Mr Porra said.
Nitro Circus Live lands at Cazalys Stadium on June 1, 2013. Tickets go on sale on November 11 from nitrocircuslive.com and ticketdirect.com.au
