AFL Cairns Juniors would like to extend an invitation to attend Cairns 2014/2015 Development for player born between 1997 and 2002 (turning 13 in 2015).
This year, the Cairns Development Program has aligned with the Gold Coast SUNS Academy Program and moving forward will be run in conjunction. The Cairns Development Program will be managed by the recently appointed position of Gold Coast SUNS Academy Manager, Cameron Campbell who will work closely with current AFLQ and AFL Cairns Development Staff. Cameron (Academy Manager) will oversee the talent programs and pathways for the Cairns region, both GC SUNS based (elite) and Cairns Lions (regional).
The program is designed for AFL Cairns Youth Players who have aspirations of playing representative football or simply want to improve their own football and fitness. It will be a requirement that all Academy selected players are in attendance at all training sessions.
During training we will be concentrating on skill, game sense, running and strength development, all key areas for today’s footballers. Our program will focus on encouraging players to be the best they can but we do have guidelines that individuals must follow if they commit to the program.
