THE DV SCHOOLS PROGRAM BOUNCES INTO EPPING VIEWS PRIMARY

The DV Schools Program made it’s debut visit to Epping Views Primary School and also made the debut of our DV Schools Program MVP award – which goes to the Most Valuable Participant from the school.

Epping Views do a fantastic job of creating a learning environment with their students where they are rewarded for modeling the school values such as being caring, respectful, honest, striving for excellence and taking responsibility. The school believes that ‘from little things big things grow’.

The students clearly embraced sport and physical activity with lots of zest and excitement, and were particularly impressive with their capacity to learn and apply new skills and ideas.

As mentioned, this visit was the debut of our DV Schools Program MVP medal – awarded to the Most Valuable Participant on the day, one that displayed great coachability, respect and a strong work ethic. The winner from Epping Views was a young athlete named Kaira – who caught our eye for being small and quick but showed both the ability to learn and attempt new things, but also a willingness to attempt to play off both the right and left sides of her body which is absolutely vital in today’s game if you want to be the best version of yourself that you can be. Well done, Kaira !

We would like to thank P.E Teacher Bale Micovski, Epping Views Primary School and the students for having us come in to share the game, spread the word of the sport of Basketball, and highlight the value in engaging in physical activity.

If you would like your local primary school to become involved in the FREE DV Schools Program where we visit your school and share the game in your P.E sessions, or to book return visits for schools already participating – contact DVBA Community Development Officer, Mark Alabakov at mark@dvbasketball.com.au to get the ball rolling !

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
