In 11 days, NCAA Division 1 Ivy League powerhouse the Yale University Bulldogs stand toe to toe with our Big V State Championship Men Diamond Valley Eagles. The Bulldogs visit the Valley after a successful 22-10 season culminated in a nail-biting loss to Harvard. With the game tied, a made jumpshot with 7.2 seconds to go ended Yale’s bid to be in the NCAA Tournament, with Harvard advancing instead.

To give context of the tremendous honor it will be to host the Yale Bulldogs, the first match of their 2015/16 NCAA season is against Duke University on November 25 at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina. According to ESPN Insider, Duke University boasts the number 1 recruiting class of athletes joining their program in the entirety of the NCAA. So, in effect, playing our Diamond Valley team is a tune up match before they take on arguably what is expected to be the best team in college basketball next season.

Come along and pack out the stadium for what will be a historic event for our club. Entry is simply a gold $2 coin donation – all proceeds from the game go to building the future of our club by way of fund raising for our U14 Girls who have qualified to be one of only a few select teams to compete in the U14 Australian Club Championships in Terrigal, NSW from September 28-October 3.
