EAGLES FEATURE PROMINANTLY IN STATE SELECTIONS

Diamond Valley has again been well represented at State level with 9 players selected in the Victoria Metro program for 2014. Abi Akintola & Anthony Karabatsos (Pictured) have been selected in the U/18 boy’s team, while Grace Collett & Alex Sharp were named in the U/18 girl’s team with Shannon Dufficy named as emergency.

The U/20s saw Nick Dean, Matt Jackson (Capt), Carly Turner (Capt), and Amy O’Neil (Emergency) represent Victoria with both the men & women winning the Gold Medal recently in Kalamunda, WA.

Also selected on to the staff for Victoria were Nathan Cooper - Brown (U/16 Boys Asst), Simon Hickey (U/16 Girls Asst), Shelley Reynolds (U/20 Team Manager).

“We are extremely proud of every one of those players who have worked very hard to get this opportunity. It comes with sacrifice, sweat and extra sessions when they could be doing other things, I have nothing but admiration for all of them and they represent the Club and State so well."

For the coaches and Shelley, it is a taste that they may have had once before, but it is also the beginning of a journey that hopefully takes them to where they want to be. It has been another example of sacrifice and hard work and commitment but the rewards are fantastic. Congratulations to all the coaches who have given up their time to help, each and every one of them." – Alan McAughtry
