TAKE YOUR COACHING TO THE NEXT LEVEL

DVBA is once again conducting it’s Coaching Preparation Course (CPC), a follow up to the ‘Introduction to Coaching 2016’ clinic, presented by DVBA CEO Ross Wignell. 

The DVBA Coaching Preparation Course is a series of clinics that will run on 4 consecutive Thursday nights at Bundoora Secondary College in Balmoral Avenue in Bundoora, with 1 session on a Sunday at DV. This course is open to domestic coaches and rep coaches alike.

Recognized by DVBA’s Coaching hierarchy, the course will be presented by Diamond Valley’s Mark Alabakov – a current WNBL Assistant Coach with the Melbourne Boomers and Coach in our Academies, Camps and Eagles U16 Girls Program. Mark has extensive experience in coaching at all levels, with all ages and specializes particularly in player development. Mark will share knowledge with the coaches and aim to equip them with drills, teaching points and progressions to deliver to players of all ages.

 

The course will run :

- Thursday, February 25th from 7:30pm-9:30pm at Bundoora Secondary College
- Sunday, February 28th from 11:30pm – 2:30pm at Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre (2 hours on court, 1 hour in the function room)
- Thursday, March 3rd from 7:30pm-9:30pm at Bundoora Secondary College
- Thursday, March 10th from 7:30pm-9:30pm at Bundoora Secondary College
- Thursday, March 17th from 7:30pm-9:30pm at Bundoora Secondary College 

 

The course will cover : 

-       Body movement fundamentals

-       Ball handling

-       Passing

-       Shooting

-       Individual Offense

-       Communication (off-court session)

-       Team Defenses : Man to man, Zones and Presses

-       Team Offenses : Concepts, Sets and Systems

-       Offensive and Defensive Transition

 

If you would like to further your coaching game, deepen your Basketball understanding, and gain tools and methods to conduct efficient and effective practice sessions, then we welcome you to attend our DVBA Coaching Preparation Course.

 

Cost is $85 per coach, which covers all 5 sessions within the course and include a coaches notepad and certificate of CPC completion.

Payment method can be made by direct deposit to Diamond Valley Basketball Association (BSB: 083-784, Account 24800 3256)

Reference: Your Surname + DVBA CPC.

Payments can also be made in person by : Cash or Cheque (made payable to DVBA).
