MAN TO MAN DEFENCE

Over the past three weeks, 210+ coaches from DVBA’s 19 Junior Domestic Clubs attended the Man to Man Defence Coaching Clinics, presented by CEO Ross Wignell. With the help of Junior Domestic and Junior Championship players as demonstrators, Ross educated coaches on the benefits of Man to Man Defence, and shared practice drills to assist them at their training sessions.

"It has been great to present to so many of the Association's Coaches that are responsible for the development of our young basketball players. Teaching our kids how to play man-man defence will not only make them better players going forward, it will provide more enjoyable games when coaches play this defence in games."

These clinics were compulsory for U08, U10 and U12 coaches, with the aim of improving the competition and supporting player development, by encouraging Man to Man Defence in these age-groups.

DVBA would like to thank Diamond Creek Basketball Club, Greenhills Basketball Club and Watsonia Warriors Basketball Club for use of their training venues. A big thank you to Domestic and Championship players who did a great job demonstrating on court.

DVDs of the clinic will be available for purchase for $10 at the DV Shop, as of Monday 8th August.
