DIVISION 1 COLLEGE BASKETBALL RETURNS TO THE VALLEY !
On the back of the buzz and what was an incredible event 12 months ago, when Ivy League champions Yale University took part in an exhibition match against the Diamond Valley Big V State Championship Men, we are proud to announce that Division 1 College Basketball is returning to the Valley !
The Eastern Washington University Eagles are coming. In the 40th year of the Diamond Valley Basketball Association, the battle of the Eagles will take place as our State Championship Men will be excited and honoured to welcome in such a prestigious University for an exhibition game.
The Eastern Washington University Eagles are an excitement machine. They play fast, they attack with scoring weapons at every position and have the ability to string baskets together in flurries.
The Eagles are members of the Big Sky Conference, a Conference they won 20+ games in and were Champions of in 2015, going on to be part of the 64-team field in the famed NCAA tournament that year as a #13 seed only to be defeated by the #4 seeded Georgetown Hoyas.
Eastern Washington University has taken part in 105 seasons of NCAA Basketball and amassed a 53.5% win rate over that time. Notable NBA players to come from EWU include Indiana Pacers guard, Rodney Stuckey and scoring machine Tyler Harvey - a recent draftee by the Orlando Magic in 2015.
With Eastern Washington scheduling a number of exhibition matches during their Australian trip, DV is offering you the chance to be the FIRST to see them in action. The first game they will take the floor for on Victorian soil will be the hallowed floorboards of Civic Drive !
In tow will be their standout scorer and 40% 3pt shooter, Austin McBroom (see highlights here : http://bit.ly/2ae7Kwe) along with the Eagles contingent of Australians – Victoria’s own Felix Von Hofe, Geremy McKay, Mason Peatling and Michael Wearne, as well as Jesse Hunt out of Western Australia.
