Big V Wrap - Round 3

It was a tough weekend for our Eagles, coming up against some of the competition's strongest teams.

Our VYCM went toe-to-toe with the Nunawading Spectres and came away with a win 89 - 69. The boys put on a great show of pressure in a high paced game with Cameron Conlon racking up 15 points and 13 total rebounds. The VYCM will be back in action this Saturday night @DV against the Melbourne Tigers for an 8 pm tip-off.

The SCM were dealt a tragic 1 point loss to the Whittlesea Pacers in overtime. In what was nearly a heroic comeback, Ray Sanders continued his hot form with 26 points, while Brandon Conley was influential with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The boys then travelled to the State Basketball Centre on Sunday to face a dynamic Knox Raiders outfit, but again came up short losing a 59 - 79 scoreline. Our SCM will be looking for retribution this weekend, as they take on the McKinnon Cougars this Friday night @DV.

Our VYCW hit the road to take on the Nunawading Spectres and came away victorious in a 50 - 57 scoreline. Mikaela Watson was influential with 14 points and ten rebounds to her name. The VYCW will be in action this Saturday night @DV, taking on the Melbourne Tigers from 6 pm.

On the SCW front, the girls travelled to face the Knox Raiders at the State Basketball Centre and fought hard. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough against the second on the ladder Knox Raider's, as they went down 64 - 86. Amelia Smith was a powerful performer, scoring 17 points to go with 6 rebounds. Our SCW face a massive battle this Friday night as they take on the McKinnon Cougars in what will be the first of two huge games this Friday night.

It's been fantastic to see the support in the stands so far this season. We look forward to seeing the Eagles in action this weekend over four huge games.
