SEABL Round 7 Preview

Our SEABL teams have a big weekend ahead, first travelling to Kilsyth to face the Cobras and then backing up on Sunday at Diamond Valley against the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence.

SEABL Women

The SEABL Women had a tough loss against the Supercats last weekend, and will be looking to put 2 wins together against Kilsyth and BA CoE. Kilsyth have won the last 4 games, and have been led by Australian Opal Stephanie Blicavs. The BA CoE have had a tough start to the year, winning only 1 of their first 8 games. However this group is full of young taltent thay could explode for a big game on any day! No one is more dangerous on this group than Shyla Heal, daughter on Australian Basketball stud, Shane.

SEABL Men

The SEABL Men have struggled to find consistency so far in 2018. This week presents one of the biggest challenges to date, facing the top of the table Kilsyth Cobras. Kilsyth has one of the strongest rosters in SEABL this year, boasting 6 players with NBL experience (including Felix Von Hofe from Melbourne United and Dane Pineau from the Sydney Kings). The next day does not get much easier for the Eagles, coming up against the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence who have only lost 2 games this year. The “BA CoE” is home to the rising stars of Australian Basketball, including Daniel Grida from Western Australia who is currently averaging 17.4 points per game!
