CHAMPS PASSING THE TORCH ON TO YOUNG EAGLES

Last Saturday night the Vic Metro U/16 women’s squad were presented on court at half time of the Diamond Valley SEABL women’s game vs the Albury Wodonga Bandits. The young Victorian squad were at the beginning of a weekend of team building which took in the game, a chat with current DOC and former Victorian Metro Head Coach, Alan McAughtry and a catch up with current college and former Vic Metro Championship winning Eagles, Shannon Dufficy, Amy O’Neill and Alex Sharp.

Under 16 Vic Metro Assistant Coaches Simon Hickey (DV Under 16/1’s) & Jacqui O’Neill (SEABL A/C & DV Under 14/1’s) have been working extremely hard under the guidance of former Opal, DV SEABL A/C & Vic Metro Championship winning coach Samantha Thornton.

The knowledge and passion shared with the group by an outstanding group of role models, was clear on the night. We wish all the players and staff the very best not only for the upcoming Australian Championships, but in their journey ahead as great basketball people.
