Hope Terdich Signs as an Eagle for 2019

Diamond Valley Basketball Association are pleased to welcome the latest signing to our Senior Championship Women’s Eagles team, Hope Terdich.

The Power Forward/Centre has had a stellar basketball career to date, beginning her junior career with the Melbourne Tigers Basketball Association. Hope had numerous years in the Vic Metro state sides, even representing Australia at the U/19 FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament! Her senior career has been nothing short of incredible, with 152 SEABL career games under her belt, spanning back to 2010, with a career average of 12 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

In 2012, Hope was part of the Dandenong Rangers WNBL championship run, whilst also leading the Rangers to three-consecutive SEABL championships from 2010 to 2012. Last year, Hope returned to the league with the Kilsyth Cobras, leading the squad to a 15-5 season, and finishing 2nd during the home & away season.

“Hope brings great experience after having played WNBL and being apart of countless SEABL championships; Head Coach Jonathan Goodman stated. She has been a complete player at the junior level and will give us great leadership on and off the floor, assisting in developing our next crop of senior athletes. She brings energy to the offensive end, with the ability to finish different ways at the basket, whilst also being able to defend much larger athletes”

We spoke to Alan Mcaughtry, Director of Coaching at Diamond Valley Basketball, on the impact of this signing for the Women’s Eagles:

“The signing of Hope provides our team with both experience and an immediate understanding of what it takes to play at this level. She has performed at a high level throughout her junior and senior career, and I look forward to seeing her with our Senior Eagles for 2019!”

This year, the Eagles Senior teams will be competing against some of the best clubs in the state, with Basketball Victoria announcing a new ‘Elite League,’ competition in 2018! In 2019, Hope will be an ambassador for Wattle Glen Junior Domestic Club, building on the strong link between our Senior and Junior programs.
