Civic League Wrap - Round 13

Round 13 was a surprise with a domination by one team and an upset in another game. The top 3 is becoming more of an uncertainty with several teams fighting to be in contention for the end of the season.

Round 13 Results

6.10PM The Splashers 37 v Greenhills Beavers 61

The Splashers rut was in full effect with the undefeated Beavers demolishing their highest competition. Greenhills were on a mission with a devastating first quarter leaving Splashers at the starting line. The absence of Dean Plummer was not significant with the team filling the scoring void and keeping key scorer Bryson Norris scoreless for the whole game.

Top performers:

Adam Moore (Greenhills Beaver)

Jeremy Datson (Greenhills Beavers)

Tom OConnor (The Splashers)

7.05PM Redbacks 63 v Dream Team 37

Redbacks are on the warpath to advance their position on this highly competitive ladder. They took advantage of the shorthanded Dream Team, running away with a 16 point win. Another great example of Redbacks’ shared scoring load with 4 of their 6 players scoring in double digits.  It is only a matter of time until Redbacks jump into the top 4.

Top performers:

Paul Meager (Redbacks)

Peter Hayman (Redbacks)

Tony Hogg (Dream Team)

8.00PM Uni Hill 58 v Wolves 39

The Wolves were outclassed by a desperate Uni Hill, keeping their chances alive to break into this highly competitive top 4. If Uni Hill can get their full roster playing heading towards the end of the season they will be able to make an exciting run at finals. The outside shooting of Uni Hill was the difference in this game with 27 points beyond the arc. Like Redbacks, Uni Hill is knocking on the door of finals waiting for a top 4 team to drop in form.

Top performers:

Lincoln Garfirth (Uni Hill)

Will Ahoole (Wolves)

Ernst Kruger (Uni Hill)
