Ben Moller has been awarded the A.S. McLean Medal at the National Secondary Schoolboys Championships.
At the recent Under 15 Carnival, held throughout Sydney over a full week, Ben was asked to perform all umpire disciplines including Goal, Boundary & Field Umpiring.
"It was really good. I got to umpire at many different grounds, including the SCG & the Giants new home ground and sometimes at more than one venue in a day, which was very demanding" Moller said.
In the last game of the Carnival, Ben was one of three State Umpires chosen to Field Umpire the Grand Final between the winner of Pool A, Victoria and unbeaten winner of Pool B, Queensland. The Result ended with Victoria the Champions by 11 points, in a close game. At the conclusion, Ben received the "A.S. McLean Medal" as a symbol for the best Umpire during these All Australian Championships.
"I believe this is only the second time in fourteen years the medal has been awarded to a Qld Umpire", Moller said.
WELL DONE BEN!
