Four Wide Bay Umpires have just returned from duties at the 2016 AFL School Sport National Championships.
Leighton, Philip, Luke and Mitchell (pictured) were selected to umpire at the Championships following performances at the Qld AFL School Sport State Championships held earlier this year. The Championships hosted AFL teams in U15 boys, U15 girls and U12 boys.
During the week from 24th to 30th July all four umpires participated in between 1 and 2 games a day covering all disciplines of umpiring including field, boundary and goals.
As an added bonus, Luke was honoured to receive a one-on-one with AFL Boundary Umpire Peter Bock, as well as the opportunity to meet AFL Rookie listed Field Umpire Alex Whetton.
This is an outstanding achievement for the four boys and AFL Wide Bay Inc congratulates them on their efforts.
