BBA U18's Sweep Country Champs!!!
Last weekend the State Championships were held in Perth at the Basketball WA Centre. The Bunbury Basketball Association made a strong showing in the U18 Division taking away two country championships. Congratulations to the U18 Boys and Girls as they made a clean sweep of the competition.
Led by Grand Final MVP Josh England, the boys defeated Geraldton to claim the title. England was also named All-Star 5 for the tournament. "Josh, Mitch (Lockhart) and Jordan (Sears) were standouts in the tournament, the whole team played their guts out." said Head Coach Carl Catalano.
Meanwhile, Georgia Denehy took away the MVP in the U18 Girls Grand Final and was also on the All-Star 5 with teammate Ebony Bilcich. The two paired up to win in the final game against Mandurah by a score of 40-27 under Head Coach Gary Bock.
In the U16 competition Brodie England took away an All-Star for the boys.
Next weekend the U13 Boys, U14,15, & 16 Girls will compete for the Country Championships in Perth.
