Eastern Mavericks (62) lost to Southern Tigers (105)
The Southern Tigers notched up a convincing 43 point win over the Eastern Mavericks at Adelaide Hills Recreation Centre on Saturday night.
The first quarter was encouraging for the Mavs who are on the bottom of the ladder, they led the Tigers by 1 point at the first break.The Tigers lashed out in the second quarter sinking 4 free throws in a powerfull 37 point quarter whilst limiting the home team to only 5 points at the other end. Meanwhile the Mavs ran in to foul trouble in the second and gave away a further 10 points at the free throw line for the Tigers. Although the Mavericks bounced back and played a strong second half, the deficit was too huge to overcome.
The Mavs defence in the key had holes, they allowed they Tigers to score 44 points in the paint compared to sinking 20 of their own. The Tigers trademark team work held them in good stead again this week, with 5 of their list scoring in double figures. Eastern's Dylan Shorne led the game with 20 points to his name.
