Eagles Go Down In Over Time

The Norwood Flames have defeated the Forestville Eagles by 5 points in an overtime thriller at Wayville on Saturday night.
 
Both sides started strongly and the Flames had a 4 point lead at quarter time. The Eagles dominated the second quarter, with the 4 point margin in their favour at half time.

The momentum shifted during the third quarter, with the Flames dominating, they overturned their deficit to take a 10 point lead at three quarter time. The Eagles came out firing in the last quarter and fought to level the scores at 81 each at the final siren. The Flames made the most of the extra five minutes, adding another 12 points to their score to win by 5 points.
 
Matthew Lycett was one of the best for the Flames with a big score and game high of 26 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists. Daniel Webber and Andrew Webber were both the next best scorers with 17 each. Daniel also had 13 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. Andrew had 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal. Matthew Long matched Daniel’s 13 rebounds, as well as recording 10 points, 2 assists and a steal. These strong rebound efforts helped the Flames to dominate the rebound count, 61 to 40.
 
For the Eagles, Adam Gibson was one of their best with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Gibson was closely followed by Trent Fildes, who recorded 21 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. Brad Haydon scored 16 point, including 4 threes, along with 6 rebounds, an assist and a steal.
