Eagles Women Conquer Warriors

Forestville Eagles (75) defeated Woodville Warriors (73)

The Forestville women secured their second win of the season defeating the Woodville Warriors by just two points at Wayville on Sunday afternoon.
 
The game was close at the start but the Eagles pulled away to lead in the second quarter, giving them an eight point advantage at half time. 
 
The Warriors came out strongly from the main break and narrowed the margin to just two points at three quarter time.
 
The final quarter was tight, with scores level on six occasions. The Eagles got over the line, stealing the two point win with only seconds to spare.
 
Jess Fergus was one of the best for the Eagles, especially during the final quarter. She ended the game with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Fergus’ 22 points were matched by teammate Jade Johnson, with 12 of those points coming from threes. Megan Kermond was also a key part of the Eagles’ line up, scoring 10 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Alex Duncan and Sarah Petrie were influential with 9 and 8 rebounds respectively.
 
Carmen Reynolds had a double double with 20 points and 16 rebounds while team mate Ashleigh White was only one off a double double top scoring for the game with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
 
The Forestville Eagles will want to keep their winning momentum up when they play the Bearcats at home this Saturday.

Woodville will be looking for their first win of the season when they host Central Districts, this Saturday night.
