In the Women’s matchup, the South Adelaide Panthers pressed their claims for a top 5 position from the get go. South piled on 24 points in the first term to the Mavericks 7, they went on to claim every stanza of the match to win 84-56.
Janae Howard started strong and continued to dominate the Panthers offense, finishing with 31 points and 10 rebounds in just under 32 minutes of play.
The Panther squad were dominant on the boards, pulling in a combined 19 offensive rebounds. Their pressure up and down the court also forced a massive 28 turnovers from the Mavericks. The steals and turnovers allowed the Panthers to hoist up 25 ore shot attempts over the course of the game.
Emma Hooley led the Mavericks, recording a double double with 13 points, 11 rebounds. However she was their lone double digit scorer against the likes of Howard, Danielle Greaves; and Jessica Mahony, who dished out 7 dimes to accompany her 15 points.
