North Adelaide Rockets (60) lost to Sturt Sabres (77)
A quick start for the Sabres allowed them to take the lead from the first goal and never give it back to the Rockets at Hillcrest on Saturday.
North Adelaide held the Sabres at bay in the second quarter with both teams scoring 17 points for the period and they even managed to close the gap to just 3 points at the beginning of the second half. However the shooting trouble for the home team combined with some game changing manoeuvres from the Sabres' Natalie Novosel allowed the visitors to stretch their lead to 17 at the final break. The final quarter was the highest scoring of the night for the Rockets but the Sabres matched their every step equalling their score and nothing had changed at the final buzzer.
Rocket Jamie-Lee Peris and Sturts' Hannah Richards shared top scoring honours with 20 points each. They were also both made double doubles with Peris adding 16 rebounds to her stats and Richards pulling down 12 of her own.
