Under 17 Women Get Silver at Nationals

The Hawkes Bay Under 17 Mens and Womens teams are playing in the National finals in Tauranga from Friday 1st to Monday 4 June. Results will be published as they happen.

The girls lost the final 67 to 57 after being down by as much as 17 in the third quarter. The team just could not get their shots to drop but still managed to get the down to 7 but just could not quite bridge the gap.

Aaliyah Ah Kiong scored 24 points, Shevanna Sullivan 9 and Hynda Tonga 7 pts and 6 rebounds.

Aaliyah Ah Kiong was named tournament MVP and in the Tournament team along with Hynda Tonga

HB U17 Men lost to Otago 67 - 64 for 8th

Day Three results:
The Under 17 Women are in the final after defeating New Plymouth 72 to 55. The will play North Harbour tomorrow
U17 Men lost to Waitakere 84 to 54 and move to the 7th and 8th playoff.
Day Two results :
Womens U17 defeated Nelson 73 - 26 and
Counties in their quarter final 70 to 43 vs Counties. Aaliyah 17 pts, Kimi 11 pts 8 rebs, Demi 7 pts.
Into the semifinal against New Plymouth


Men's Under 17 lost to Waikato 67 to 57 and North Harbour 71 to 60 in their quarter final game a go to the 5th to 8th playoff.
