CANTERBURY BASKETBALL ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP

Canterbury Basketball Association is thrilled to announce a new partnership to start the 2014 season.

Canterbury Basketball will be teaming up with New Zealand Home Loans to provide support to the Canterbury Wildcats as they take on the 2014 Women’s Basketball Championship.

At New Zealand Home Loans, the business owners and staff are part of the local community and it was only natural that with a passion for basketball, Jono Keast would be tempted to team up with the Association to support the game by giving back to a sport that he has gained so much from.

“Basketball has been a huge part of my life and I am extremely passionate about the sport and the role it has to play in our community at all ages. Having the opportunity to support such a community focused non-profit organisation is a privilege, and through the partnership between New Zealand Home Loans and Canterbury Basketball, we look forward to being able to assist in all things basketball as well as putting members of the association in a better position financially.”

The Association are excited to see its flagship women’s team get a level of support which will help ease the financial burden placed on players.  With the WBC kicking off on May 2nd-4th in Christchurch, the Association again gets to play host to the Country’s top female basketballers.

General Manager Megan Harlick believes that the partnership is an exciting one for the Association and the Wildcats.

“The Association is delighted to team up with New Zealand Home Loans.  Working with New Zealand Home Loans on the partnership has been a positive experience and the benefits are far greater than just the Wildcats.  The opportunity for our members to benefit from the knowledge and expertise that New Zealand Home Loans can provide, while at the same time supporting the Association is a win-win for everyone.  The partnership also brings a level of support for community initiatives to make basketball more accessible for everyone.”

To see the New Zealand Home Loans Canterbury Wildcats in action for yourself, head down to Cowles Stadium May 2nd to 4th and take in the action from the opening weekend of the 2014 WBC.  For more information on the draw go to the website www.canterburybasketball.co.nz or like us on facebook.
