Winter Club Forum - 7:00pm July 2 Elmwood Bowling Club

CBA Winter Club Forum

Mid Winter Club Forum is on Thursday 2nd July, 7pm, at the Elmwood Bowling Club.  There are 2 agenda items:

(a)   CBA and CRBF (Rams) organisation

(b)   CBA club development plan 2020

The second point is the most critical, with the CBA presenting clubs with a roadmap for Club basketball over the next 5 years. It is vital that all clubs contribute to this discussion, and have their voices be heard.  The CBA is ultimately responsible to its members, and any proposed changes going forward need the partnership and support of the clubs.

Mouthguards

Mouthguards are now compulsory.  Players will not be permitted to take the court without one.  Referees can advise floor controllers if they have players on the court not wearing one, and the floor controller and Referee both have the authority to remove them from the game.  Mouthguards will be available to be purchased from the floor controller for $10, or from the CBA office for $9.20 (BBNZ branded ones). We also have Shock Doctor ones available at our office for $12 each.

Competitions Administration

The Canterbury Basketball Association wishes to announce the resignation of our Competitions Administrator, Chad Blair, effective from 16th June. I (Paul) would like to personally thank Chad for all of his work in a very challenging and demanding role, and to wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

In the interim we are planning to have our staff reposnisble for different aspects of the competition - things of note for the general CBA community:

  • Email/Text general competitions enquires to the regular number/email - this will be checked at least every second day
  • Carol Bathurst will be making sure all floor controllers are assigned and organised
  • James Lissaman will handle the draw scheduling and communication of this

Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
