YMCA star Maddy McMahon has needed hospital treatment after suffering a concussion in Tuesday night’s GBL Winter Championship Division 1 women’s Round 18 clash at Geelong Arena.

McMahon was on the end of accidental elbow from a Sharks opponent during the first quarter of the match, which was eventually abandoned when the talented swingman was taken away by ambulance.

Both teams have been allocated two points, enough for Y to claim the minor premiership.

Pivot City kept alive its hopes of a top-two finish with a 61-55 result against second placed Dolphins.

Pivot trailed by a point at three-quarter time before outscoring Dolphins 21-14.

Teenage big Lauren Moloney was the star for Pivot City with 23 points.

Moloney was well supported by 10 points from guard Shayna Poto.

TJ Rolph impressed for Dolphins with 18 points. SEABL Lady Supercats skipper Cortney Williamson shot 16.

Despite a stunning shooting a display from Kendyl Collins, Try Boys were beaten by Rovers 87-68.

Collins exploded for 42 points, which included a season-high 10 three-point makes.

The 17-year-old was the lone Bear in double figures, while five Rovers scored 10 points or more.

Amy Troy was best with 16 points, while Tania Du Plessis and Emily Koroneos both had 15.

YMCA has moved into second spot on the men’s ladder after holding off Sharks 62-58.

The two sides were locked on 49-apiece at three-quarter time, with a 13-9 final period enough for Y to claim victory.

Riley Herbert paced YMCA’s scoring with 20 points, while veteran forward Jordan Hill (14) and youngster Tom Gall (12) provided adequate support.

Sharks were best served by 19 points from Dane Bow, which included six three-point bombs.

Pivot City continued to show why it is favourites for a fifth-straight championship after seeing off Christian College 73-58.

The Pivotonians opened up a six-point lead at quarter time and never looked back.

Steve Packer (16 points), Nick Kent (13) and Matt McCormack (12) were the keys for Pivot City.

Playing coach Keith Harrison led the way for the Eagles with 17 points. Jackson Bentley and Tim Bemelmans both scored 13.

In his first game in more than a month, Try Boys’ guard Chris Daniele showed he had lost no touch after torching Vytis for 31 points.

The talented shooter dropped in six of his three-point attempts as the Bears pulled away after half time for 72-52 result.

Youngster Hunter Bourke continued his solid form with 13 points and Steve Hyland shot 11.

Star forward Steve Wisask was best for the Knights with 14.
