An entree of Magpie and Robin stew and for mains a mouth watering feast of Dog & Roo!
What a wonderful feast of footy we have at the Jubilee Saturday to celebrate this very special 100 year anniversary of Anzac Day.
The day deserves a Grand Final type crowd as everyone makes tracks to the Jube to celebrate all that is good about Australia - supporting our team and giving it to the opposition ( in the right spirit though)
The Pies welcome back Kyle Farcich and apart from that have a pretty settled team that has served up two meals that even Glenn Williams would reject! Isn't it great seeing Glenn in the Black & White, be a Collingwood Supporter next!
West have been doing plenty of soul searching but on paper look much better this week. The incluison of Ty Andrews and Rylie McInnes is a huge boost. Add the speed of Rikki Howell and the toughness of Ben McInerney and Brent King and this Robins outfit might be ready to serve up a great feed rather than the takeaway of rounds one and two.
Expect a tough dour low scoring contest with as much bitching as MKR without the adds! The Robins were not that bad last week in defence just couldnt or wouldnt push up and make South defend.
I'm tipping the sweetest desert Saturday night will be on offer in Gypsum Street, but not by much!
The Silver Service gourmet game starts at 3.30pm and deserves a price increase (lets make it $20 ....only joking)
South and North have cleaned the plate of the opposition in both weeks and will start equal favourites. Both have some early seasson problems to address and both Coaches know it!
Craig Thomas is pinning his hopes that Tom Billings and Todd Blacksell are fresh and fit (I fear not) whilst Coach David Ruddock has some roster issues with players not getting consistent footy. The Bulldogs have Garrick, Rayner, Dempster and Mannion back on the plate this week and all 4 Premierships players are top shelf quality.
South have 6 changes including Alan Mackiewicz, Jacob Peters, Marc Purcell and Cody Shorn and the two TB's.
Like MKR its all pretty easy until the pressures on and mark my words this is going to be a 100 minute slow cooker treat with more twists and sub plots than the any other game bar the Grand Final. If you think either team doesnt want to win this one you are dining at the wrong restaurant.
By the time final sirens sounds I'm guessing the Bulldog stew will be tasting yummier than the Roo stew....by a few yukky hairs (points).
This is no MKR elimination round we have 5 more chances to dine on these mouth watering contests in 2015 before one team will get voted off!
If you've read this far, well done! Atleast there wasn't 10 adds turning a 30 minute show into a 100 minute stomach pain....everyone loves MKR ...said no one ever!
