James McClure typified the spirit of Anzac Day defying the odds to help the Pies to a narrow win!
28 year old McClure, who resides at Netallia Stn via Wilcannia, rarely sees the training track but turns up for the Pies most weeks and gives his all. McClure impressed with his tenacious four quarter effort that went a long way to seeing the Pies win their first game for the year. Also in consideration was Lindon Cox who had a strong second half and for the Robins Clinton Pearce again was outstanding in the West backlines.
The game was marred by a howling wind that blew across the Jube which made goals like diamonds. In the final minutes Centrals kicked the sealer to win 5-7 to 4-7.
McClure is pictured with Adam Fisk & John Bacich from the local branch of the RSL who were both on hand to add a touch of class to Anzac Day formalities.
