North and Central clash at the Jube Saturday and it promises to be a tough encounter.
North welcome back Codie Howard and Jayden Kelly and with Eddie Morgan, Ben Thompson and Brett Johnson all in good form they have a midfield to envy! Add the class in attack of Shane Dalby ( 6 last week) and Anthony Henderson ( 4 last week) and Centrals Coach Jarrod Hinton will be shuffling the magnetic board in his sleep plotting a boilover!
Its good to see North Coach David Ruddock reads the Budget and has rushed Luke Reynolds straight into the team. Big, strong and skilful I betting he can worry a few key backs...in all Clubs!
Central on paper are building a tougher, older, stronger team and they will need to make this a torrid competitive affair as North will chew then up big time if they are allowed to run free from the midfield.
The return of Justin Heath is timely and lets hope the niggles are cured, as when he takes the field the Pies are a better team. Leadership from Jarred Paull, Lindon Cox and Digby Schinkel needs to happen by way of strong positive voices that help to marshall the less experienced players into the right zones. Every player has strengths and Centrals need their runners to work harder and their dour defenders to play likes skins! In simple terms know your role, beat your opponent and never stop talking!
Over the Hill the Roos just don't miss a beat. Jumping off the train this week to play is Simon O'Brien who a few years back was on a rookie list with Port Adelaide such is his raw talent. Simply Simon is a class player, who is one step ahead in the thought process, so he makes great decisions with the ball. No Blacksell, Cody Schorn, Wade Gepp or Mitchell Henderson and the Roos will still kick twenty!
Recent history shows the Robins get travel sickness heading over the Hill, so this week they need to all remember the solid effort they put in last week and accept nothing less. You can only admire the passion of a Greg Conway, Jordan Tonkin and a Brent King to name just 3 - they pull on that jumper and they give their all. That's all the Coach and the Supporters want to see! Give effort, have pride and never give up - you may not win but you will win respect.
North and South will win - lets hope the Pies and Robins make them earn it!
Games of the Round are at 11.25am with the Women's Pink Round of Footy - pictured is West's dynamo Jess Ray in the flash pink socks!
North v Central Ladies & South v West Ladies - its all PINK as the girls support Breast Cancer.
Round!
