Injuries, work and school holidays see a raft of changes for Saturday's games.
West v South at the Jube
West In: D Cowan, J Carpenter, G Conway, J Harvey, J Meehan, C Pearce, T Davey
West Out: P Christos, H Harris, A Hendry, R Howell, S Matten, L Raven, D Toigo
South In: N Agius, J Bird, S Edgecumbe, B Degoumois
South Out: C Paull, A Bird, C Caldwell, J Peters
South still have their gun midfield intact and despite also missing their Coach this weekend stand in Coaches Bill Dolan and Drew Mashford will get the job done.
West will welcome back Conway and Pearce to give them two stronger bodies and young Meehan is a gem with his never say die attitude. West will continue to improve but South's superior fitnes, game plan and sheer skill will be too much for the young Robins.
The Roos will win by plenty and Cody Schorn will kick double figures!
Central v North at the Memorial
Central In: S Bevan, W Eatts, C Martin, M Sullivan
Central Out: M Day, J Gilby, J Hodgins, P Nash
North In: M Buckland, S Dalby, K Ellis, J McConnell, L Reynolds, J Watson
North Out: C Billings, M Dempster, N Mitchell, J Morgan, B Oldsen, N Rayner
North on Ball weekend don't lose and are building week by week to September. The midfield is getting better by the week with the regulars Kelly, Howard and BJ being very well supported by Morgan, Thompson, Cumming and Richards. The X factor for the Dogs is Jedd Watson with his mobility very hard to match up on.
For the Pies they need to stand firm on their home patch and then use the ball better. The time is long overdue for Captain Jarrad Paull to be placed around the ball and use his experience and kicking skills to set up more goal scoring options. Sean Power is all class and Keta Balchin is providing a real contest at full forward. The Pies need a lift in the ruck and the return of Bevan ( and the absence of Rayner) will give the Pies a genuine chance to win the middle if Heath can win first possession.
This game could go either way: the Dogs could be thinking about the Ball and next weeks top of the table clash giving the Pies a chance OR they will come ready to play the type of football that will having the Pies chasing tails all day. I favour the later and the Dogs for 50+.
