North and West Women's kicked off the Lightning Cup on Satuday morning. North were victors, kicking 3.4.22 to West's 0.0.0. North's Evelyn Craig, Jess Ray and Courtney Garnaut kicked the majors of the match, and their best players were Danika Kolinac, Jess Ray, Neve Robins, Shannon Oates, Katie Schorn and Stevie Robinson. For West, Marlene Hunter, Harvey Nguyen, Simone Zammitt, Indianna Paull and Maddy Amos-Hanson were stand-outs.
In the second match of the day, South took on Central in the Grand Final rematch. However, South were victorious on this occasion, beating Central 6.2.38 to 4.3.27. South goal kickers were Melisa Keenan (3), Lyndsay Kubiak (2) and Amee Hogarth (1), their best players were Melisa Keenan, Frankie Baldwin, Phoebe Knell, Sarah Gillespie, Bec Wall and Shenae Aguis. From Central, Steph Balman, Amy Richards and Bella Morris kicked a goal each and their best players were Erica Schmidt, Shelby Raven, Chloe Ralph, Georgia Treloar, Kim Ashby and Amy Richards.
Game three seen South double up to take on West. South 4.6.30 defeated West 0.2.2. Mel Keenan, Lyndsay Kubiak, Bec Vadar and Amee Hogarth kicked the majors and Sarah Gillespie, Lyndsay Kubiak, Frankie Baldwin, Amee Hogarth, Abbey Stevens and Bec Vadar were voted South's best. For West, Gaylee Honson, Rachel Hardy, Allara Reynolds, Indianna Paull and Harvey Nguyen were voted West's best.
In game four, North were defeated by Central 3.3.21 to 0.0.0. Bella Morris kicked 2 goals and Kym Ashby 1. For North, Dee Pritchard, Shannon Oates, Stevie Robinson, Monica Semmens, Danika Kolinac and Verity Keenan were amongst the best players.
Game five seen Central take on West, and win 4.1.25 to 1.0.6. Georgia Treloar, Bella Morris, Steph Balman and Kym Ashby scored Central's majors whilst new recruit Tarnee Tester kicked her first goal in the Red and Black for West. Cilla Mahoney, Marlene Hunter, Indianna Paull, Aslinn Stellini, Gaylee Honson and Simone Zammitt were the stand-outs.
In the final Women's game, South took on North, defeating them 3.4.24 to 0.0.0. Melisa Keenan, Amee Hogarth and Lyndsay Kubiak kicked a goal each to lead their team to victory. Frankie Baldwin, Mel Keenan, Lyndsay Kubiak, Amee Hogarth, Sarah Gillespie and Casey Marsden were named among South's best players, whilst Jess Rayner, Dee Pritchard, Tegan Gray, Shannon Oates, Danika Kolinac and Tammy Oates were North's.
South were clear winners in the Women's League, winning all of their games, and Central were Runner's Up, winning two of their three games.
After lunch, the Men's games commenced with North and West opening the procession. North defeated West in a tight contest 6.4.40 to West's 5.3.33. Chris Billings (2), Eddie Morgan, Harry Cudmore, Henry Treloar and Felix Riston were North's major scorers, whilst Robbie Bates (4) and Cohen Bates (1) were West's. Harry Cudmore, Mat Garrick, Jedd Watson, Trent Barraclough, Felix Riston and Jakob Borlace were rated North's best whilst Robbie Bates, Matt Nelson, Bobby Harvey, Liam King, Daniel Milne and Cohen Bates were West's.
Game eight seen South obliterate Central 10.12.72 to 0.0.0. Cody Schorn bagged 3 majors, Nick Agius 2, and Marc Purcell, Lauchlan Whitelaw, Jordan Johns, Sam Edgecumbe and Luke Lines kicked 1 each. Marc Purcell, Marcus O'Brien, Cody Schorn, Jordan Johns, Ben Degoumois and Nick Agius were amongst South's best players.
South doubled up to take on West in game nine, defeating them 8.4.52 to 1.0.6. Jordan Johns (2), Jake Gepp, Riley Schorn, Todd Davidson, Luke Lines, Nick Agius and Marc Purcell were South's goal kickers. Davin Bates kicked West's major. Best players for South were Cody Schorn, Jordan Johns, Riley Schorn, Angus Collins, Marc Purcell and Harley Cannard. For West, Liam King, Alan Mackiewicz, Daniel Milne, Zane Kemp, Clinton Pearce and Davin Bates were voted best players.
In game ten, Central overcome North 7.1.43 to 2.3.15, after not producing a score in the first half. Central's Luke Neal kicked 3, while Brent Fennessy, Paul Gauci, Chris Zanker and Matt Ali scored singles. Ayden Pettitt and Ethan Slater kicked North's majors and were ranked amongst North's best along side Harry Cudmore, Ashley Richards, Anthony Tidbull and Brock Elliot.
Central doubled up to take on West in game eleven, conceding defeat 13.7.85 to 1.0.6. West's Davin Bates and Jake Trengove kicked 3 goals each, Mervyn Harris 2, and singles to Callum Rosewarn, Sage Hocking, Matthew Nelson, Bowen Vincent and Simon Matten. Rikky Howell, Davin Bates, Sage Hocking, Jake Trengove, Josh Sheargold and Micheal Powell were West's best players.
In the final game of the day, the Grand Final rematch between North and South. South were victors by 2 points, 5.4.34 to 5.2.32. Cody Schorn, Jakey Peters, Nick Aguis, Arlen Bird and Sam Edgecumbe kicked majors for South whilst Nash Mitchell, Ethan Slater, Eddie Morgan and Trent Barraclough were North's goal kickers. Eddie Morgan, Quinton Beaven, Nash Mitchell, Ethan Slater, Jedd Watson and Felix Riston were ranked North's better players whilst Marc Purcell, Cody Schorn, Harley Cannard, Dylan Stuart, Sam Edgecumbe and Jake Gepp were South's.
South once again take home the silverware and the prize money, not losing a game all day in either Women's or Men's football.
The Central Women's team were Runner-Up in their division and won their club $250, only losing to South in game two.
The West Men's team were Runner-Up in their division and won their club $500. Although West, like North and Central, had only won a game each, West's percentage was the highest at 126.53, compared with North's 79.07 and Central's 28.
