Former Caloundra junior Eric Hipwood was selected at pick #14 by the Brisbane Lions in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft held on Tuesday 24 November in Adelaide.
Hipwood, who commenced playing in the AFL Sunshine Coast Juniors competition in 2010, progressed from the junior ranks onto senior football with the Caloundra Panthers in 2014, before playing with the Brisbane Lions Reserves and Aspley in the NEAFL.
He was also part of the winning Queensland team at this year's Under 18 Division Two National Championships.
His selection in the Draft is testament to the opportunites available for all junior footballers on the Sunshine Coast.
