JACK JONES NAMED ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Sydney Comet Jack Jones was today named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of Year following a vote of the league's fifteen head coaches.

Enrolled at College of St Rose in Albany New York the 6'8 forward is the second leading point scorer for the Golden Knights averaging 10.7 points per game and 4.1 rebounds along with converting 34.6 percent (45 of 130) from the three point line.

Starting in all 27 games for the Knights this season Jack was a unanimous selection to the All-Rookie team and has most recently played his best basketball averaging 16.2 points from his last six games which Saint Rose has gone 4 and 2.

From all of us here at the Comets we are extremely proud of Jack and this achievement. A long time junior with the association Jack started playing local comp with Dulwich Newtown progressing through to the representative ranks at the age of fourteen.

Today’s announcement is a great reward for all his hard work. Great job Jack.
