FOOTBALL SOUTH COAST BOARD CHANGES

Football South Coast is pleased to advise a number of changes to the FSC Board.  This includes the creation of a Representative and Development Football Council, the appointment of our new independent director Alison Errey and Milco Stojanoski a current FSC Board member, being appointed as the Deputy Chair.

At the FSC AGM on the 19th March 2014 some constitutional changes were approved.

Currently the South Coast Wolves and the Illawarra United Stingrays are part of the Men’s and Women’s Football Councils respectively.  This was seen to be an appropriate fit at the time of unification as a method of ensuring appropriate communication between the various competitions.

Since then, player and coaching development has become an increasing area of focus by Football South Coast and there are close ties with our representative teams (the South Coast Wolves, Illawarra Stingrays and South Coast Taipans) as part of the elite pathway in our region.

The constitutional changes that were approved will mean that a new football council will be formed called the Representative and Development Football Council with a primary focus on player and coaching development across the Illawarra.

“Player, coaching and referee development is a key part of our strategies.  In terms of unification late last year, our referee’s become part of FSC.  Now with the introduction of the new Representative and Development Council, the FSC Board will consist of all key stakeholders across our football family.  This is a great milestone and is all part of the change and review constantly being undertaken by FSC as we look to grow the success of football in our region” stated Ann-Marie Balliana, CEO of FSC.

The council will comprise of members of these key representative clubs and a Football South Coast delegate who represents FSC development programs such as the Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) and the Regional Youth League (RYL).

Over the coming weeks, this council will appoint a member to the FSC Board who will be the Head of the Representative and Development Football Council.

South Coast Wolves Chairman Bobby Mazevski said that ‘this goes to show the strong ties within the football community and the strengths of having a unified body representing football in our region.  It also shows the commitment to development of football on the South Coast and creates an area of specific focus”.

Mick Woods the President of the Illawarra Stingrays added ‘the support of Football South Coast over the last number of years has been extremely valued by the Stingrays.  The development of this new football council formalises some of these close ties and allows a great opportunity for our elite clubs to sit at the same table on a regular basis and maximise the synergies that exist between our clubs’.

The benefits of this new football council were further supported by the South Coast Taipans President Walter Del who said ‘The Taipans have an excellent relationship with both the Wolves and Stingrays and provides synergies to both clubs as the representative pathway in the game of Futsal.  I look forward to working with both clubs in the future, strengthening our already strong relationships for the betterment of all representative pathways on the South Coast’.

FSC also recruited for a new appointed director and we are pleased to announce Alison Errey to the FSC Board.  Alison is currently the Head of Corporate Affairs at IRT and has substantial experience in senior management and Senior Executive roles.

Milco Stojanoski has been part of the FSC Board since its inception and has a wide and varied experienced across football.  Milco is also the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and continues to bring to the Board particular focus on areas of operations and governance.
