Dapto Dandaloo can move one step closer to an FFA Cup berth when they meet the Marconi Stallions in Sydney on Tuesday.

In a blockbuster fourth-round Waratah Cup tie, the Fury travel away to the former NSL Champions and now NSW NPL Men's 1 battlers for a spot in the round of 16.

The Illawarra Premier League club sit several league's below their rivals heading into the clash, but coach Norm Boardman believes his side can cause an upset.

"We have players who I know are going to stand up," Boardman said.

"We were disappointed last year after Noel [Spencer] was sent off for a questionable offence ... I think we want to atone for that."

Boardman's men have started their Illawarra Premier League campaign in strong form and the gaffer is hopeful it will translate into a solid display against the Stallions.

"If we can play with the same intensity for 90 minutes on Tuesday night as we did against Tarrawanna, it will hold us in good stead," Boardman said.

"It was a good build-up for us as well. Had we played someone and had an easy game, it wouldn't have had us in as good shape."

The Fury may have met Marconi at the right time, with the Stallions failing to win any of their past five league matches.

The Illawarra's only other remaining side, South Coast Wolves, are to meet Sutherland Sharks in the round of 16 - at an undetermined date.
