WOMEN'S COMPETITION MATCH REVIEW DIVISION 1

Well the rain finally cleared but teams were greeted with cold and windy conditions.

Olympic settled into the blustery conditions better and had an early goal through Emi Skopal.

Olympic had more of the ball due to their better organisation and superior passing game however their repeated raids on goal were thwarted by last ditch defence and some great work by the Wests keeper.

Olympics next goals were fortunate (despite her strong game) coming to Tiera Humby. The first saw a shot on goal misjudged by the keeper after it skidded along the ground for an easy tap in, while the second saw a defensive header rebound into the attacker resulting in another easy shot on goal.

With the windy conditions and Olympics continued raids on goal, the inevitable happened when a penalty was awarded and converted after an Olympic attacker was taken down in the box.

Half time 4-0

Olympic started the second half strongly but poor clearing saw them receiving a dose of their own medicine. Wests were now having their own attacking raids.

The Wests keeper continued to be strong making some great saves to prevent the score blowing out.

Wests N6 was making a nuisance of herself every time she got the ball and looked destined to score, but it was not to be. Perhaps Wests best opportunity to go on the scoreboard was in the 67th minute when an excellent cross was misjudged by the Olympic keeper and the ball seemed to do everything except cross the line.

In the 81st minute a long range pass from Olympics Annie Holiday from the midfield tricked every and rolled into the goal 5-0.

Congratulations to Olympic on the result and their strong passing game. Congratulations to Wests for never giving up and coming home strongly in the second half.

The final score 5-0 to Olympic.
