Helensburgh Thistle 3 – 2 Corrimal Rangers

A 90th minute strike from Grant McDonald earned an unlikely 3-2 victory for Helensburgh over 3rd placed Corrimal at Rex Jackson Park on Saturday.

Jason Wellings opened the scoring for Thistle in just the 7th minute of the game as the home team sprung out to an early 1-0 lead. The goal was wiped out in the 36th minute when Corrimal’s Christian Plakias found the back of the net. Jason Wellings scored his second of the game in the 41st minute to ensure Helensburgh held a one goal advantage going into half-time.

The second half began with Corrimal pushing hard for an equaliser and the breakthrough came for Rangers in the 78th minute when Andrew Nanos was able to hit the net. The two sides looked destined to draw before substitute McDonald found the winner for Helensburgh with mere seconds remaining in the game.

Shell Cove FC 3 – 0 Thirroul Thunder

Three goals was enough to see the League Leaders’ cruise to a comfortable win over Thirroul at Myimbarr Park.

Tom Markovski opened the scoring in the 7th minute for Shell Cove and from then on Thirroul couldn’t work their way back into the match. The early goal was the difference at the half as Shell Cove were well in control of the game.

The Cove found their second goal in the 73rd minute when Chris Jankulovski was able to put the ball in the back of the net. The win was wrapped up in the 91st minute when substitute Goran Nikolovski scored Shell Cove’s third of the game.

UOW FC 2 – 3 Berkeley

Two goals in two minutes late in the second half sealed a come from behind victory for Berkeley over UOW at Kooloobong Oval.

Tobias Williams was first to score as University took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute. The lead was stretched to 2-0 just eight minutes later Scott Muilwyk found the back of the net. Tony Paglialunga pulled a goal back for the visitors just before the interval to make it 2-1.

Berkeley were able to equalise in the 76th minute through Jarryd King and then just two minutes later Paglialunga grabbed his second of the game to sneak the win.

Warilla Wanderers 2 – 1 Kiama Quarriers

A goal in either half was enough for Warilla to seal a win over Kiama at King Mickey Park. Kiama finished the game with ten men as Kel Fergurson picked up two yellow cards.

Scott Friedewald gave the home team the lead in the 19th minute when he pushed the ball home. The score remained 1-0 as the two teams entered half time.

Chris Christodoulou was able to equalise for Kiama after the restart but Luke Greathead proved the difference as he grabbed the winner for Warilla in the 78th minute.

Picton Rangers 6 – 0 Kemblawarra

A hat-trick from Gary Seymour was the highlight in the 6-0 drubbing of Kemblawarra at the hands of Picton at Hume Oval.

Jordan Hooke provided two more of the goals with the 6th coming off the bench through Tim Ruprecht.

Coniston Lions 0 – 0 Oak Flats Falcons

Oak Flats were unable to overcome a resilient Coniston as the Lions earned a 0-0 draw at JJ Kelly Park.

Balgownie Rangers 1 – 1 Wests Illawarra

Two first half goals was all the action as Balgownie drew 1-1 with Wests Illawarra at Judy Masters Oval.

Brent Wilson opened the scoring in just the 5th minute as Balgownie took an early 1-0 lead. However the goal was cancelled out just a minute before half time when Loris Livieri scored for Wests.

Neither side could break the deadlock in the second half as it remained 1-1 for the final 45 minutes.
