Corrimal Rangers 3 – 0 Balgownie Rangers

A second half hat-trick from substitute Nick Tortorella saw Corrimal earn a 3-0 win over Balgownie at Memorial Park on Saturday.

Despite chances falling both ways, neither side was able to break the deadlock during the first 45 minutes as the score remained 0-0 at the half.

Once Tortorella was introduced for Jayden Bubb, it took the attacker just  11 minutes to put the game beyond the reach of Balgownie. The first goal came in the 68th minute and just three minutes later Tortorella had his second for a 2-0 Corrimal lead. Eight minutes later the attacker had secured his hat-trick and the vital three points for Corrimal as they push for a semi-finals berth.

UOW FC 1 – 5 Shell Cove FC

Sell Cove scored four second half goals to run away with a 5-1 victory over UOW at Koolobong Oval on Saturday.

UOW were off to a flyer in the opening stages of the game when Scott Muilwyk scored in just the 6th minute for a 1-0 lead. The competitions leading goal scorer, Tom Markovski, was on hand in the 34th minute to drag Shell Cove back into the match and ensure the sides entered the break at 1-1.

It took the southern suburbs club just four minutes to hit the lead after half time when Jacob Miller found the back of the net for the Cove. Four minutes later Markovski netted his second of the game before Ile Kostovski added Shell Cove’s fourth in the 63rd minute. With 15 minutes left in the game Emile Bou-Simon entered the game from the bench to score the final goal of the match and his first in first grade since making a mid-season move from Wollongong Utd as Shell Cove cruised to the three points after a tough opening period.

Warilla Wanderers 3 – 0 Coniston Lions

2nd placed Warilla cruised to a 3-0 win over Coniston on Saturday at King Mickey Park.

It took Warilla just six minutes to take the lead as Luke Greathead scored his 10th goal of the season for the club. Neither side could find the net again before the break as Wanderers took a 1-0 lead into half time.

The second half saw Coniston searching for an equaliser but it was Mark Marinelli who was on hand to extend Warilla’s lead to 2-0 in the 70th minute. Chad Keating wrapped up the scoring on the day with a goal in the 89th minute to cap the win for Wanderers.

Wests Illawarra 0 – 4 Picton Rangers

Three first half goals drove Picton to a comfortable 4-0 win over Wests Illawarra at Unanderra Oval on Saturday.

It took time to settle, but a goal in the 28th minute to Aidan Matthews started a spurt of goals before the break for Picton. Two minutes later Tim Rupprecht had Rangers second before Nicholas Mugridge added a third seven minutes before half time.

The spree continued just three minutes after the restart when Dayne Morley nabbed Picton’s fourth and final goal of the game.

Thirroul Thunder 1 – 2 Helensburgh Thistle

A goal in each half was enough for Helensburgh to win a mid-table duel against Thirroul at Gibson Park on Saturday.

Branko Tesanovic opened the scoring before 10 minutes had passed in the game to give Helensburgh an early 1-0 lead. Thirroul were able to work their way into the match despite the early setback and equalised through Bradley Strudwick just a minute before the half time break.

Thistle were able to retake the lead shortly after the restart when Josh Brady found the back of the net in the 52nd minute. The early goal proved to be enough as Helensburgh held onto the 2-1 lead.

Kemblawarra v Kiama Quarriers (Match abandoned after 68 minutes)

Unfortunately, due to a serious injury, at Albert Butler Park on Saturday this match was not completed with Kemblawarra leading Kiama two goals to nil at the time of the stoppage.

A slow start to the game was broken just before the break as Marc Aquilina found the back of the net to give Kemblawarra the momentum at half time.

The home side were able to capitalise on the advantage after the break when Damian Jorge picked up the teams second of the game in the 58th minute.

Not long after, the Kemblawarra Goal Keeper, Chris Lazarevski and Kiama’s Keegan Beringer were involved in a collision which resulted in  Beringer received a suspected dislocated shoulder.
An Ambulance was called and the delay in the vehicle arriving at the ground meant that the game had to be cut short.

Oak Flats Falcons 2 – 0 Berkeley Sports

A debut goal from striker Sam Markoulis helped seal a vital 2-0 win for Oak Flats Falcons over Berkeley Sports. You can read the full report here.
