SUNDAY WOMEN'S GRAND FINALS

Berkeley Sports Ground

Division Four: Tarrawanna vs Woonona

Kick-off: 9:30am.

League champions Tarrawanna take on Woonona in the Better Business Accounting Women’s Division Four grand final on Sunday. Tarrawanna beat out the Oak Flats Falcons 4-1 in their semi-final to qualify while Woonona defeated the Russel Vale Pink 3-0 in their semi-final.

During the regular season Tarrawanna recorded 2-1 and 5-1 victories over Woonona before the two sides drew 1-1 back in July. Woonona boast the competition’s best defence while Tarrawanna scored the most goals during the year to present an interesting grand final matchup.

Division Three: Helensburgh vs Corrimal

Kick-off: 12pm.

It’s business as usual for League Champions Helensburgh in the Illawarra Master Builders Women’s Division Three Grand Final when they take on Corrimal for the big prize. Helensburgh have been far and away the competition’s best team as they not only went through the season undefeated but won all 17 of their games; scoring an astonishing 119 goals in the process. Both teams won 4-2 in their respective semi-finals to earn a place in the big game.

Helensburgh won both the regular season meetings between the two teams by score lines of 4-0 and 11-1 and are firm favourites to take out the title.

Division Two: Shellharbour vs. Fernhill

Kick-off: 2:30pm.

Fittingly it is first plays second in this season’s Illawarra Master Builders Women’s Division Two Grand Final as League Champions Shellharbour face off against Fernhill. Shellharbour will take confidence into the game after downing Fernhill 4-0 in the semi-final to qualify. The Foxes overcame Unanderra 2-0 in the preliminary final last weekend to force a rematch.

During the season the two clubs played out a 2-2 draw before their second match was washed out. Shellharbour are yet to lose a game this season and capping off an undefeated season with a Grand Final winners medal will be on the minds of their players.
