HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETER WEBSTER!

While most 75 year olds are happy with reaching that milestone, Peter Webster has celebrated his 75th birthday on Tuesday, by playing in a football match organised in his honour last night.

Peter who is still an active registered player with Figtree Titans in the FSC Community League Over 35s division 3, played in a match last night against Figtree Fire, who compete in the Over 35s 2nd division. The match was organised by the Figtree club through Peter’s son’s Craig and Neil, as a birthday celebration for their Dad. It was a special occasion for Peter and the family, with sons, Craig, Neil, Cameron, grandchildren Jake, Sophie, Eliza and Zara all playing on the same side.

Peter who has played competitively for the last 60 consecutive years and has only missed a handful of matches in this time, stated that he is not ready to retire just yet. Peter’s wife, Robbie Webster, who has supported Peter all these years, stated with a grin, that she was more than happy for Peter to continue his playing career. With four other grandchildren Kaitlin, Victoria, Sonny and Madison, Peter hopes one day to take the field with all the family, prior to retiring.

In honour of this match to celebrate Peter’s, 75th birthday, Football South Coast Head of Men’s Football Claude Cuda and Men’s Football Council Community League delegate Danny Gades, were on hand to present Peter with a plaque in his honour for services to football.

Football South Coast congratulate Peter on this wonderful achievement. Happy Birthday!
