VALE: DAWN POWER

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Dawn Power, aged 78, passed away on 31 October at her home in Kiama.

Since 1979, Dawn has provided consistent and valuable service at club and Association level. She had held a number of executive and committee positions with Kiama Junior Football Club where she is also a Life Member.

Dawn has also served on what was known as the Illawarra Junior Football Association back in 1988 where she helped run knockouts, finals series' and gala days. She became the roo-ball coordinator in 2002 and was made an IJFA Life Member in 2008.

Without having ever played the game herself, Dawn has been a servant of football in the Illawarra for over 30 years where she thoroughly enjoyed watching junior teams play and develop.

Dawn has spent a lifetime giving freely her time to the youth of the Illawarra. She is well known amongst those that have come across her and she was a highly respected member of the Illawarra Football Community.

Dawn's service to football was recognised where she was honoured as a Football NSW State Award recipient in 2010.

She is the mum of FSC and Junior Competition Coordinator David Ware and she will be missed by all.

Forever in our thoughts - Rest in Peace Dawn.
